4. Appearance
The Macintosh is once again, the only computer
that can conform to your every whim. Kaleidoscope, Greg's Buttons, Aaron,
and many other utilities are available to change the way your Mac looks. Also, MacOS 8 has an Appearance Control Panel that allows the user to change the looks of the system. Quite nice...
5. Speed
Two letters says it all. G3.
6. Software
Yes, there is more software for Macs than
there is for Windows 95/3.x. Although you can't buy most of it at a store
i.e. CompUSA/Circut City or your local software dealer, you can get it
even cheaper from mail order catalogs and on the Internet.Info-Mac
is the best place to find shareware and freeware for the MacOS. Most, if
not all of the software that I mention here is available from Info-Mac. Check my links page for more.
7. Virii
Yes the good old virus... Accordigng to Symantec
Corporation, there are 10000-11000 known DOS virii, 12 Windows 95 virii,
35 Mac virii, and 6 Unix Virii. Since you need DOS to run Windows, 11012
known virii. Who knows how many aren't known or documented.
8. Hardware
On average, PC users buy new computers every 2 years,
and Mac users upgrade every three years. Besides that fact, even a Classic
can run System 7! And we all know that Macs just aren't good because they don't come in black cases which of course make computers faster and louder... Pickle that one.
9. Loyal Users
Over the years, Mac consumers are more loyal
than PC users. Think about it. Once you use a Mac, you can't go back to the Wintel Platform.
10.System Updates
This one is pretty much self-explainatory.
Apple seems to come out with updates more often, less expensive. Often system updates are free (i.e. 7.5.5, 7.6.1). Microsuck
on the other hand, comes out with $99 upgrades every 2-3 years. Tell me
there's not something wrong with that.
11. More Compatible
Yes, as you all know, Macs are very much compatible
with PC's; however, PC's are not so compatible with Macs. The MacOS has
a very nice piece of software called MacLinkPlus by DataViz. It's great.
It can translate multiple files formats into what ever you want, even cross-platform.
Not only do Macs have this, but they also have software by the name of
SoftWindows and Virtual PC. Both of these
